If you’re after spectacular view over the Hudson river whilst sipping you your favourite beverage, this may be right up your ally. As part of the Kimpton’s Ink 48 Hotel, the Press Lounge offers cosy seating and some of the best views imaginable, especially at night.

Be aware that seating is limited and the drinks are not cheap. Expect city prices. As a tip, many customers recommend being there to watch the sun go down at sunset.

Great place to catch up with friends and take in the 360-degree skyline is Roof At South Park. As part of Gramercy’s Park South Hotel, you’ll find it’s open in the spring & summer months and offers a great vibe that is not too snooty. Although many groups of people in the 20-30 age range hang out here, you’ll also be welcomed as a couple.

The view is not as spectacular as other places but the ambience is, and you’ll adore the open fire.

If you’re after a unique experience in the middle of winter, 230 Rooftop Bar can supply you with red robes and heaters but the most impressive part are the heated igloos on the rooftop bar. Enjoy the views whilst breathing in the cold air or if your lucky enough, your group will be cosy in a glass igloo!

Drinks and food are great but like every great spot in New York, can be a little pricey.

Bar #4 - Le Bain

Location

12 Old Compton St, Soho, London, W1D 4TQ

Here’s a tip if you wan to get into Le Bain. Go in smaller groups like 2-3 people. Larger groups can be turned away and it can get very busy. You’ll enjoy the amazing views should you make it out to the rooftop. You’ll find a younger crowd on the rooftop bar which has a wonderful crêperie. Yep, they sell all types of crepes for various tastes including vegetarian or meat-lovers.

The only downside that patrons seem to have, is that the door people are not all that friendly. So be nice or you’ll be turned away!

Bar #5 - Berry Park Roof Deck

Eater Rating

13th Best

Location

8-9 Hoxton Sq (Basement), Hackney, London, N1 6NU

Another awesome rooftop bar that, depending on your preferences, would be more beneficial to arrive early before the crowds. You’ll find that young revellers will crowd this popular bar so if you want to check it out and get a drink or a feed, do so during the day. Again, great views of the Manhattan skyline to take in.

In winter you’ll find they enclose a large area in glass so you’re kept warm, unless you decide to brave the chill outside.

Appologies to the below bars for not making the top 5. These bars are also some of the best rooftop bars New York can offer you a good time at.

The Empire Hotel Rooftop (44 W 63rd St, New York, NY 10023)

Magic Hour Rooftop Bar (485 7th Ave, New York, NY 10018)

Refinery Rooftop (63 W 38th St, New York, NY 10018)

Juliette (135 N 5th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249)

Westlight (111 N 12th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249)
